Jock Shaw

Jock Shaw is from Paisley, Scotland and plays autoharp and bodhran. Jock sings and calls dances. He is married to Ineke and has 4 children. Jock toured Israel with a comedy troupe known as “The Heavy Sausage Road Show” in the 70’s. Formerly of the Dutch folk band The Primrose Way, Jock’s aim  is to play music which is entertaining, to ensure a good laugh and to ensure some great dancing. Also, Jock enjoys nosing and tasting of single malt Scotch Whisky See: Scotch and Folk

 

Christine van Wijngaarden

 

Christine van Wijngaarden plays fiddle and sings. She has played in classical orchestras in the past 20 years. Christine is originally from Rotterdam, lives in Arnhem, is a teacher of the German and English language. She is also mother of three sons.

Paul

 

Paul is married with five children. He sings and plays the guitar, and brings some skillful technique to his playing. Paul has a particular affinity with playing beautiful accompaniments to Ineke Shaw and Christine Van Wijngaarden's Slow Airs.

 


 

   

 

   

 

Ineke Shaw

 

Ineke Shaw is married to Jock with four children and lives in Arnhem. She trained as a social worker and currently works in protected housing. She is also a keen gardener and has an allotment where she grows fruit, vegetables, weeds and flowers. Ineke plays tin whistles in the band and sings.

 

 

Ian Stewart 

Iain Stewart is a Scotsman and fiddler. Iain lives between Edinburgh, Scotland and Holland. He was one of the first members of Scotland’s highly popular and successful ‘Gallivanters Ceilidh Band’. Iain leads tours in Scottish culture in Scotland and is a Scots and Celtic folklore academic. See: Serenity Scotland

 

Herman Sol

 

Herman plays the guitar, banjo, mouthorgan and mandola for more than 30 years. He is also a member of the Irish folkband Easnadh. Based in Arnhem, Herman teaches English in his spare time and is also an allotmentholder and likes to sail. Herman is a good singer of many lively songs!
